Fall 2018 Report
Hello Fellow Trappers!
Despite the wet conditions at the convention, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, learned a new trapping tip and was able to mingle with fellow trappers.
A special thanks goes out to Robb & Heather Ladd and Crew for the generous donation of a complete Hog Roast and Entertainment. It was a good time had by all.
Ken Wouters donated a handcrafted wood strip canoe that was simply stunning. I can only imagine how many hours he put into crafting this canoe. We can’t thank him enough for this generous donation.

A block of rooms is being held under the MTA at The Super 8 Hotel located at 14341 Edgewood Drive in Baxter. Call early to make your reservation to 218-828-4288. We would like to encourage all of you to join us in 2019. Brainerd Lakes area has a lot to offer for the entire family. Contact Dave Curtis, (320) 493-0403 or Chris Holm (218) 831-7878 for tickets.
This is our second year for the Sustaining Donor Program. The proceeds this year will go to the Beginner Trapper Connection. This program adds exciting ways to further the education of our youth. Please consider making a donation by contacting Top Lot Stretcher Company at (507)360-6935 for a commemorative patch.
For the past, who knows how many years, Mark Melby has graciously skinned and put up a large share of the furs donated to our Tanned Fur Project. All at zero expense to the MTA! Due to an increase in Mark’s “Melby Outdoors” business, Mark no longer has the time and space required to continue to handle our furs. Please thank him for his years of service when you get a chance. It will take several volunteers to replace him. If you would like to help out with our Tanned Fur Project, please contact your District Director.
